28th Nov 2012: Partial (94%) Penumbral Eclipse of the Moon

Penumbral eclipse (Moon slightly dimmed):   14:12 - 18:52 SA Time

Umbral eclipse (Moon changes shape):  N/A

The Moon will be above the horizon for South Africa for the end of the eclipse, but the eclipse will not be noticeable.

During a penumbral lunar eclipse, the Moon may dim slightly - the Moon does not change shape, and the eclipse is generally not noticeable.
